Saturday, January 18th

12:00 - 1:15 Vals: moves that flow My main teacher for vals, Tete Rusconi, could swirl and twirl his way down the dance floor, like an ocean wave, building energy in a pause, moving at just the right time, and always in the music. We will work on incorporating "el swing del vals" into our dances, with new moves and variations to shake things up a bit.

1:30 - 2:45 Connection is a Collaboration: Two heads are better than one!

Tango can develop into something sublime when both partners are involved in a collaborative dance, playing off of each other's suggestions, with TWO people listening to the music, expressing themselves, and working together. We will play games and work on finding ways to jump out of our tango ruts, into a more organic, glorious dance! Come ready to try something new.

3:00 - 4:15 Pivots & Pinot

Well, OK, the wine is AFTER class, but think of your pivots as fine wines: they really make the dance more yummy! We will do exercises you can use at home to practice and improve, as well as partner work for practicas. Each of you will go home with better pivots and ways to use your body to make the pivots easier on joints and feet.

Sunday, January 19th

12:45 - 2:00 Milonga: grooves and moves
The milonga groove can be hard to find, especially while trying to speed up to milonga traspie. We will work on some skills that help your dance AND your partner's dance get into a groovier space. On top of that, let's find some new moves for each of you to incorporate into your milonga!

See you there!
